After Care
Thank you for trusting New Found Ink with your tattoo! Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully and stays vibrant. Follow these instructions carefully.
Initial Bandage (Saniderm). Leave the bandage on for 3-4 days as long as the bandage is sealed and there is not excessive fluid build up (plasma, ink, blood)
When to remove early- Fluid is pooling and looks cloudy or thick. The edges start to lift or leak bacteria can enter here. It feels itchy, hot, or tight, which could indicate irritation or sensitivity.
Removal: When its time to take Saniderm off, do so in the shower with warm water running to loosen the film. Never remove dry, as that can tear skin or pull out ink.
Cleaning: 1. Wash your hands thoroughly. 2. Gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free, antibacterial soap (like Dial Gold or Cetaphil). 3. Pat dry with a clean paper towel do not rub. 4. Do not re-bandage unless advised by your artist. Moisturizing: After cleaning and drying, apply a thin layer of a recommended tattoo aftercare lotion. Examples: After Inked, or fragrance-free lotion like Lubriderm. Do not over-apply. A light layer is best. Reapply 2-3 times daily for about 10-14 days or until fully healed.
Avoid: Do not scratch, pick, or peel your tattoo… even if it itches. No soaking (baths, pools, hot tubs, lakes) until it is completely healed !! ~4 weeks. No tanning or direct sun exposure. After it heals, use SPF 30+ on your tattoo daily. Avoid tight clothing or anything that may rub against the tattoo.
When to Contact Us or a Doctor: Excessive redness, swelling, warmth, or pus. Rash or allergic reaction. Signs of infection or fever.

Healing Process
Every tattoo heals a little differently, but most go through the same stages- from initial tenderness and light scabbing to slight peeling as your skin regenerates. It’s totally normal for your tattoo to feel a bit dry or itchy during healing, but resist the urge to scratch or pick. Keeping it clean, lightly moisturized, and out of direct sunlight will help preserve those crisp lines and bold colors. Remember, good aftercare is what turns a great tattoo into a perfectly healed one!

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT??
We always recommend booking an appointment to guarantee your spot, but walk-ins are welcome when we have openings…especially at events or on the tattoo bus!
How do i book an appointment??
You can call or text us 501-206-1532. We will ask you a few questions, best times, days etc and basic information to get you into our scheduling system. You can text inspo pics directly to us at that time and we can save them to your profile. Vagaro will send you paperwork to fill out for your appointment either thru text or email. A small deposit can also be paid at that time thru Vagaro Invoices.
What should I do before my appointment??
Make sure that you have eaten, are well hydrated, and haven’t had alcohol in 24 hrs. Dress comfortably and wear something that gives easy access to the area being tattooed.
Can i bring someone with me??
Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring one guest for support, but please keep it to just one so the artist can focus and keep the area calm and clean.
Does it hurt??
Pain levels depend on placement and personal tolerance. Most clients say it more annoying than painful. (Some people actually like it :p) We promise to keep you as comfortable as possible.
do you offer touch ups??
YES! We stand by our work. If your tattoo needs a touch-up after it’s healed, just contact us to schedule a quick session.
